UFU POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE UPDATE

Despite the gloomy weather, firefighters stood strong, rallying for a properly funded fire service!
There was overwhelming public support as they took their campaign to the streets of Minister Vicki Ward’s electorate.
Firefighters will not stand by as the mismanagement of our Fire Service continues, it is time for Jacinta Allan and Vicki Ward acts on Victoria’s Fire Crisis.

On Saturday UFU members from members participated in a PAC (Political action committee) event at a local retail outlet.

Hundreds of flyers were handed out and lots of conversations were had with the community.

Action like this has a huge impact politically. It leaves a real, lasting, impression on the community members we speak to. Local stories, by local Firefighters make this campaign real for people.

Action like this also sends a very strong message to the local MP’s, we are active and we are organised.

Pascoe Vale Rally 11th October 2025

Last weekend firefighters took the UFU Political Action Campaign to Pascoe Vale, speaking with the community about the Emergency Services Tax and the $114 million cut to Fire Rescue Victoria’s budget.
Trucks are breaking down and funding for safety is being slashed.
